Welcome to our online community.
After our Oct 23/2017 meeting I thought about what was said and considered how to effectively advertise our message and desire to have the berm fixed and our pond restored. A facebook page is a good place to start but a website is so much more effective for dealing with people since many people do avoid facebook. Also by having a website it can be found by search engines like Google and can be used as a reference on any signage that is created.
This website is being hosted within my own web hosting account. Its an account I use to host websites I created for several small businesses, friends and myself. There is no additional cost for me to operate a website for Gorrie so I decided purchase the domain ourgorrie.com. I'm not sure about the future usage of this domain but in the short term it can be used to help with the task of restoring our dam and getting our pond back.
For now this website is just a quick mockup I created to give people an idea of what can be done. The website is based on a free template I found online so there is a bunch of stuff that shouldn't be here. Just ignore it for now. Later on I'd like to change totally change the layout of site so that articles can be featured on this page. Articles will make the site much more interesting but can also be used to document our progress with with the dam restoration project. Other articles can be used as marketing tools to illustrate to agencies such as the Maitland River Conservation Authority how much we want our dam and pond back.
I also came up with an idea for a marketing strategy I explain on the "Save the Pond" page.

Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar.
